We are the only organisation focused solely on supporting babysitters across the UK. First time sitters, experienced sitters - we've got you covered.
The role of the babysitter is changing fast
Just 10 years ago babysitters were asked to pop over to a neighbour's house while they went out for a meal. Today with the rise in flexible and home working the role of a babysitter has expanded to school runs, meal preparation and overnight stays as parents look for more flexible support that traditionally might have been covered by a nanny or childminder.
Whilst the level of responsibility has increased dramatically, the support for sitters has remained non-existent with most organised coaching and advice limited to employed nannies and childcare professionals.
At the British Babysitting Association we help you feel part of something bigger, providing you with guidance, coaching and support to ensure you feel equipped for every booking, are getting paid what you deserve, and can have fun while you're doing it!
Babysitting is much more than sitting...
Newborns and Babies
Helping with nappy changes, sleep times, bottle feeds and activities. Day time help, evening babysitting and even overnight stays.
School drop-offs and pick ups, homework help, afterschool activities, evening babysitting, overnight stays, holiday help
School drop-offs and pickups, homework help, lifts to activities, meal prep, evening sitting, overnight stays and holiday help.
We spent six years running a babysitter marketplace - connecting brilliant babysitters with wonderful families. But what we really learned is that we wanted to focus all of our support on our babysitters - helping to coach, advise and support them as they build out their babysitting careers around university, family or other work.
